Introduction

Nestor Studio (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the Study Mood mobile application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using Study Mood, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not access the App.

Information We Collect

1. Information You Provide Directly

Study Plans and Educational Content

  • Study plan requests and titles you create
  • Notes and content you write within the App
  • Learning resources (URLs and titles) you save
  • All educational content is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework

OpenAI API Key

  • If you choose to use your own OpenAI API key, it is stored securely on your device in the system Keychain
  • Your API key is never transmitted to our servers or stored anywhere except your device's Keychain
  • We never access, view, or collect your OpenAI API key
  • Your API key is used only to authenticate requests to OpenAI's services on your behalf

Account and Subscription Information

  • Purchase and subscription data is managed through Apple's App Store and RevenueCat
  • We do not directly collect or store your payment information
  • Subscription status and entitlements are managed by RevenueCat on our behalf

2. Automatically Collected Information

Device and Usage Information

  • Device identifiers (for subscription management only)
  • App usage logs and crash reports
  • iOS/macOS version information

Apple Intelligence Integration

  • Your study plan requests are processed on-device using Apple Intelligence
  • We do not collect, store, or transmit the content processed by Apple Intelligence
  • All AI processing occurs locally on your device

3. Information from Third Parties

RevenueCat (Subscription Management)

Apple Services

  • App Store transaction records (managed by Apple)
  • CloudKit sync data (if enabled, stored in your iCloud account)
  • Push notification tokens (for subscription updates)

OpenAI Services

  • If you provide your OpenAI API key, your study plan requests and prompts are sent directly to OpenAI's API
  • OpenAI processes your requests according to their privacy policy

  • We do not store or access the content sent to OpenAI or the responses received

How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

1. Service Delivery

  • Generate personalized study plans using on-device Apple Intelligence
  • Generate study plans using OpenAI services (if you provide your API key)
  • Store your study plans, notes, and resources locally on your device
  • Sync your data across your devices via iCloud (if enabled)

2. Subscription Management

  • Process and validate your Pro subscription
  • Restore purchases across your devices
  • Send subscription-related notifications

3. App Improvement

  • Analyze app performance and stability
  • Fix bugs and improve user experience
  • All analytics are performed locally or anonymously

4. Legal Compliance

  • Comply with applicable laws and regulations
  • Enforce our Terms of Service
  • Protect our rights and prevent fraud

Data Storage and Security

Local Storage

  • All study plans, notes, and educational content are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData
  • Your OpenAI API key is stored securely in your device's Keychain
  • Data is encrypted at rest using Apple's standard device encryption and Keychain security
  • We do not have access to your locally stored content or API keys

Cloud Storage (Optional)

  • If you enable iCloud sync (Pro feature), your data is stored in your personal iCloud account
  • We do not have access to data stored in your iCloud
  • Apple's iCloud security and privacy policies apply

Third-Party Services

  • RevenueCat stores minimal subscription data necessary for service delivery
  • All data transmission uses industry-standard encryption (TLS/SSL)

Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share information only in the following circumstances:

1. Service Providers

  • RevenueCat (subscription management) — only subscription status and anonymous identifiers
  • Apple (App Store, iCloud, Apple Intelligence) — as required for service delivery
  • OpenAI (API calls) — only when you provide your own API key and request AI-powered features

  • To protect our rights, privacy, safety, or property

Study Mood is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

Apple Intelligence and On-Device Processing

Study Mood uses Apple Intelligence for generating study plans:

  • All AI processing occurs on your device
  • Your study plan requests are never sent to our servers
  • Apple may process requests according to their privacy policy
  • You control Apple Intelligence settings in your device's Settings app

OpenAI API Key and API Requests

If you choose to use your own OpenAI API key for advanced AI features:

  • Your API key is stored locally on your device in the system Keychain and never transmitted to our servers
  • Study plan requests and prompts are sent directly to OpenAI's API infrastructure
  • Your data is processed by OpenAI according to their privacy and data usage policies
  • We do not store, log, or access your API key or the content you send to OpenAI
  • OpenAI's terms of service and privacy policy apply to your API usage
  • You are responsible for managing your OpenAI account and API usage costs
  • You can remove your API key from the App at any time through the settings

International Data Transfers

Study Mood is available globally. Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place:

  • Data processing agreements with service providers
  • Compliance with applicable data protection laws
  • Standard contractual clauses for EU data transfers

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:

  • Updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this policy
  • Posting a notice in the App
  • Sending a notification for material changes

Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Data Retention

  • Study Plans and Notes: Stored locally until you delete them
  • Subscription Data: Retained by RevenueCat for the duration of your subscription plus legally required retention periods
  • iCloud Data: Stored until you disable sync or delete from iCloud
  • Crash Reports: Automatically deleted after 90 days

The App may contain links to third-party websites or resources you save. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to read their privacy policies.

Security Measures

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information:

  • Data encryption in transit and at rest

  • Limited access to personal data

However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

Do Not Track Signals

The App does not track users across third-party websites. We do not respond to Do Not Track (DNT) signals as we do not engage in tracking.
