Do I need an OpenAI account to use Study Mood?
No. Study Mood generates plans on-device with Apple Intelligence by default, which needs no account and no internet connection. Supplying your own OpenAI API key is optional and unlocks deeper plans for complex topics.
Where is my OpenAI API key stored?
In your device’s system Keychain. It is never transmitted to Nestor Studio’s servers and is only used to authenticate requests you make to OpenAI. You can remove it from the app at any time.
Does Study Mood work offline?
Plan generation with Apple Intelligence runs entirely on-device, so it works without an internet connection. Your plans, notes and saved resources are stored locally with SwiftData.
Does it sync between my iPhone, iPad and Mac?
Yes. iCloud sync is available as a Pro feature and stores your data in your own iCloud account via CloudKit.
