ASO Analytics

Your App Store numbers, on your device

Your App Store sales, subscriptions and search positions, read on the device with your own App Store Connect key. There is no backend: the numbers live on your device and sync through your own iCloud, and nothing passes through a server of ours.

What ASO Analytics does

  • Sales, Subscriptions and MRR

Downloads, revenue converted at the European Central Bank’s daily rates, subscription products and events, and monthly recurring revenue across every app on your key.

  • Positions, Checked Once a Day

Where your app actually stands in the App Store’s own search — the ranking the store itself shows, not the documented JSON one, which drifts about twenty places below the first screen.

  • Popularity and Difficulty, Labelled as Estimates

Apple publishes neither search volume nor difficulty. Both figures here are this app’s own relative estimates, drawn in their own colour and never dressed up as Apple’s numbers.

  • Countries and Localization

Which markets earn, which only download, and which languages your listing is missing — the locale quadrant and the localization audit put both on one screen.

  • Your Key Never Leaves the Device

The .p8 private key lives in the keychain, marked device-only: not in backups, not in iCloud Keychain, and never written into the store that syncs.

  • Works on a Reports-Only Key

No App Store Connect role below Admin can read both sales and app metadata, so keywords fall back to your public listing page. The narrow, safe key is the one to make.

By design

Your key, your data, your device

Every other tool in this category is a website you hand your App Store Connect key to. This one is an app that reads Apple directly, so the numbers never sit on anyone else’s server.

  • No backend, no account

Nothing to sign up for. The device talks to Apple directly with your key, and there is no server of ours between the two — none to trust, none to breach, none to shut down.

  • Four outbound hosts

App Store Connect for your own reports, two Apple hosts for public App Store pages and search, and the European Central Bank for exchange rates. The list is in the app’s own settings.

  • Yours to keep

Reports are stored on the device and synced through your own private iCloud database. Not a copy in someone else’s warehouse, and not a subscription you lose your history with.

  • Asked anonymously

The public searches carry no key, no token and no identifier — just the term and the storefront, exactly what any visitor’s App Store search sends.

Frequently asked questions

Does ASO Analytics send my data anywhere?

No. There is no backend and no account. The app talks to exactly four hosts, all of them Apple’s or the European Central Bank’s: App Store Connect for your own reports, itunes.apple.com and search.itunes.apple.com for public App Store pages and search results, and the ECB for daily exchange rates. Nothing is sent to Nestor Studio, because there is nowhere to send it.

What kind of App Store Connect key does it need?

A key with the Sales and Reports role — the narrowest role that can read what the app shows. It cannot change prices, edit metadata, submit builds, manage users or create further keys.

Where is my .p8 private key stored?

In the device keychain, with accessibility set to when-unlocked-this-device-only. That keeps it out of backups and out of iCloud Keychain, and it is never written into the SwiftData store that syncs between your devices.

How many keywords can I track?

Version 1.0 tracks positions for two apps, in two storefronts each, with ten keywords per storefront. Every keyword in every storefront is one throttled search a day against Apple’s public endpoint, and a full check has to finish inside the few minutes iOS grants a background task — so the limits are the request budget, not an upsell.

How often are positions re-read?

At most once a day: in the background when the system grants a window, and otherwise when you open the app. Checking twice would spend minutes of throttled requests re-reading what is already on screen, so the manual button is disabled inside that window and says when it returns.

Does it work on iPhone as well as Mac?

Yes — one app for iPhone, iPad and Mac. Your data syncs between them through your own private iCloud database. The API key does not sync: it is added once per device, on purpose.

Is the popularity figure Apple’s search volume?

No. Apple publishes no search volume outside Apple Search Ads. Popularity here is measured from Apple’s own search suggestions — how short a prefix already offers the term — and difficulty is weighed from the apps holding the results. Both are relative estimates, and the app says so on the screen that shows them.
